Amigurumi critters: cute characters made to crochet

Every critter in Critter Chain is drawn the way an amigurumi doll is built: one round body, little ears or horns, simple flat colors and a sweet face. That makes each of the 460,800 critters a ready-made amigurumi idea.

Why these critters are easy to crochet

One body shape. Every critter is a single round "head-body", the classic amigurumi ball worked in a spiral of single crochet. Increase to the widest round, work even, then decrease and stuff.

Small add-ons. Ears, horns, feet and arms are small cones and ovals sewn on at the end. The bunny's long ears, the cat's triangle ears and the cow's horns are all a few rounds each.

Flat colors. Each critter uses one main yarn color, a lighter shade for the belly patch, and small touches for the hat and the thing it holds, so you need only a few colors of yarn.

Embroidered faces. The eyes, blush and mouth are easy to embroider or to make with safety eyes. The expressions (happy, winking, sleepy, in love) come down to a few stitches.
